Accessibility Statement
themanintheback.com · Last updated 29 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to visit this site, see our games and use the press kit, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the basis of the Israeli accessibility standard (SI 5568), for everything we make ourselves.
What we have done
- The whole site works with a keyboard. Every game case is a button; when a case, the press kit, a legal page or the game console is open, keyboard focus stays inside it. Escape closes cases, the press kit and legal pages; the game console closes with its Eject button, because the game itself uses the keyboard.
- In the details view, the 3D case can be turned with the arrow keys and opened or closed with Enter. Everything the case shows is also written out as text next to it.
- Images, buttons and controls have text alternatives, and pages use headings and landmarks so screen readers can move around them. A “Skip to the games” link is the first thing on the page.
- Text meets WCAG contrast levels, and the layout adapts to phones and to text zoom.
- The animation switch in the header stops the moving decorations (swaying cases, drifting particles, the idle spin). If your device asks for reduced motion, the site starts with them off. Sound is off with one click too, and nothing plays sound on its own.
- Every trailer can be closed with a button, and the site keeps working if 3D graphics are not available.
Known limitations
- The 3D game cases are a visual experience. Screen readers announce them as interactive objects, and all of their information (name, description, platform, release, status and links) is available as text beside them.
- Sheva HD, playable in the console, is a fast puzzle-platformer drawn on a canvas. It needs a keyboard and mouse and is not usable with a screen reader; this is a limitation of the game itself.
- Trailers play in YouTube’s player. Captions and player controls are provided by YouTube and may not be available for every trailer.
- Press images are artwork and screenshots; each one has a written title, and the press kit text describes the games.
If something on the site is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us and we will help you get the information another way and fix what we can.
